Any person who has not belonged to a Golf Club before may pay a reduced subscription as an encouragement to take up the game of golf.  The member has all the privileges of full membership.

Nine Hole Members are eligible to play on one of the Club's designated 9 hole courses on any one day when the course is not being used for a Club competition. They receive a 9 Hole handicap.

A person may make application for Country Membership provided he/she is a financial member of any other affiliated golf club in New Zealand. They may play the course at any time, join with the members on Club days and play in tournaments but are not eligible to play in Waihi Golf Club competitions, eg Championships etc. They do not receive a golf handicap from Waihi, using instead their handicap from their home club.

Summer Membership runs from the 1st of October in any year to the last day of March in the following year. If a Summer member wishes to become a full member, the summer subscription paid is taken as part payment for the subscription of whichever class of membership they wish to apply for (full member or 1st year member).

An Intermediate Member shall be a member aged 18 or 19 years. The age is to be determined as at the 1st of January each year.  Intermediate Members shall have full playing rights without voting rights. Intermediate members in full employment pay a higher subscription.

Any persons aged 10 to 17 years (the age to be determined as at the 1st of January in each year) may be admitted as Junior Members. Junior Members shall have the privilege of playing golf over the course or part thereof, subject to such conditions and instructions as the Management Committee may at any time impose and they shall be entitled to use only those portions of the clubhouse as the Committee may at any time determine. They may not play in Club competitions. A Junior Member may, on attaining an official club handicap, apply for Competition status, pay the additional subscription, and then be eligible to play in Club competitions.

An Associate Member is a social member who is not entitled to play golf on the course but can use the Clubhouse facilities.
